Jacksonville father dies after being shot at home on W. Beaver St., family says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police say a man is dead after a shooting Monday morning at a home in the area of 10200 West Beaver Street in Jacksonville.

Action News Jax spoke to a woman who said her son Travis Oliver, 31, was the man killed at the home.

She said he was a father of two children and lived at the home he was shot at.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say they received a call about the shooting at 2:45 a.m. and when officers arrived, they found the shooting victim. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they are working to speak with any witnesses and are canvassing the area for possible evidence.

JSO said they do not have any suspect information at this time.
