JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax’s Ben Becker paid a visit to the to Chuy’s located in the Town Center area in Jacksonville.
State inspectors found potentially hazardous food temperatures, a dish machine sanitizer not at proper strength and equipment in poor repair.
Becker spoke with a manager who did not comment on the violations.
Becker called its corporate office but has not heard back.
The Carrabba’s Italian Grill on Blanding Boulevard near I-295 was cited for sewage backing up through floor drains, food stored on the floor and poultry not reaching minimum temperature.
Inspectors said Ted’s Montana Grill also on Blanding Boulevard near I-295 had potentially hazardous food temperatures, an employee touched a body part than engaged in food prep and there was an accumulation of food debris on a food contact surface. Action News Jax received the following statement:
“Ted’s Montana Grill at Blanding Blvd. was reinspected immediately following the first inspection, and passed. All corrective actions were made as pointed out by the inspector,” said Trey Webb, director of operations at Ted’s Montana Grill. “In addition, Ted’s held a mandatory retraining course for the entire team to ensure this does not happen again. Food safety and training are of the utmost importance to the team at Ted’s Montana Grill, and our guests will always be our number one priority. We assure you that incidents such as this are no indicator of the high level of standards and proper training we have established.”
At Southern Grounds & Company on 1st Street near Lemon Street, inspectors found potentially hazardous food temperatures, co2 tanks behind bar not secured and no proof of state approved employee training.
