Roadside assistance employee attacked, robbed while working in Arlington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is suffering from life-threatening injuries following a reported robbery in Arlington Wednesday night.

The victim was called to the area by a roadside assistance to help the suspect unlock a vehicle. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that’s when the victim turned violent, robbed the woman, and drove off. She was hit by a car, it’s unclear if it was the suspect’s vehicle.

In a press briefing Thursday morning, JSO said it happened at the University Food Mart on Playa Way, not far from the Duval County Health Department. It’s across the street from Arlington Elementary, but schools will not be impacted.

Authorities are searching for an older black Chevy Monte Carlo with red trim and has the word “Jackman J” on the side.

Anyone with more information should contact JSO at 905-630-0500.
