JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JEA released security camera video of the fire that destroyed a T1 transformer on the Southside.
The fire also took out half of the substation during a storm Tuesday afternoon, according to JEA.
JEA initially said lightning may have been a cause, but the official cause remains under investigation.
"JEA has not identified a cause at this time. As part of the investigation we are determining if the equipment can be repaired and returned to service," said spokeswoman Gerri Boyce.
The utility says the cost to replace a 50 MVA transformer is $1 million.
