A tractor trailer driver is facing charges after he caused a crash that seriously hurt a 63-year-old woman, troopers said.
All southbound lanes of US 301 at CR 218 were blocked as the driver of a 2013 Honda CRV was airlifted to the hospital just after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday
Troopers said the woman was driving a CRV southbound on US 301 in the left lane when a tractor trailer carrying steel cut across both southbound lanes from the Whitley Steel Co. parking lot.
Troopers said the 63-year-old driver of the CRV swerved to try to avoid hitting the truck.
The front of her CRV hit the left back side of the truck and she got pinned inside the CRV.
Fire rescue officials had to cut her out of the car.
She was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers said the truck driver was charged with violation of right of way.
He was not injured in the crash.
