JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Brianna Williams, the mother of missing Jacksonville girl Taylor Williams, has been moved from the hospital to the Duval County Jail.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it arrested Williams on two child neglect charges and a charge of giving false information to law enforcement during an investigation.
In the jail log, Williams' housing location is listed as being PDF, the Pre-trial Detention Facility.
Previously, it was listed as OTHR, meaning "other."
Action News Jax reporter Elizabeth Pace spoke to the Duval County Public Defender’s office regarding William’s case.
Since she was charged while in the hospital on Nov. 12, Alan Chipperfield said she was listed as absentee for her first court appearance.
He said she is now waiting for her next court appearance, which is scheduled for Dec. 4.
Now that Williams has been booked into the Duval County Jail, Action News Jax Law and Safety Expert Dale Carson said it’s up to the State Attorney’s office on whether to upgrade William’s charges.
TAYLOR WILLIAMS CASE
“The investigators go to the state attorney’s office, and they actually review the evidence with the state attorney, the prosecutor,” Carson said. “The prosecutor then makes a formal determination as to whether or not she can prosecute a given individual for a crime.”
