JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Update: 12:21 p.m. 8/21/22
SpaceX’s Dragon cargo spacecraft splashed down Saturday at 2:53 p.m., just north of Cape Canaveral.
NASA reports this return of the Dragon cargo craft marks SpaceX’s 25th contracted cargo resupply mission to the International Space Station.
NASA says that this spacecraft carried more than 4,000 pounds of valuable scientific experiments and other cargo back to Earth.

The sound of the sonic boom caused by the spacecraft’s reentry was reported by many residents of north Florida and Georgia.

The SpaceX Dragon resupply ship is headed back to Earth and after re-entering Earth’s atmosphere, the spacecraft will make a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of Florida.
The Dragon supply ship will be loaded with scientific cargo for analysis. Updates will be posted on the agency’s space station blog.
