Spotlight: Another busy October weekend in NE Florida

Jacksonville, Fl — While the signature October event of Florida-Georgia is still a week away, this weekend is going to be full of community events.

Friday - Sunday: Florida Black Expo 2021 – African-American owned businesses will showcase their talented enterprises at the Prime F. Osborn Convention Center. This 3-day event will have every participant, consumer, young adult, local small business, community organization and international corporation alike leaving better than they came.

Saturday: Community Impact Day Family Fall Festival – The Mayor’s Community Based Crime Reduction Program is hosting a Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Town Success Zone (1401 Grunthal St. – 32209). There will be a variety of health screenings, music, entertainment, food, fun activities and giveaways for the entire family. Children must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.

Music: MercyMe with Micah Taylor at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday. Little Big Town performs on Saturday at Daily’s Place. And the Expendables and Ballyhoo! performs on Sunday at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

Friday - Sunday: Spooktacular returns to the Jacksonville Zoo. Tickets much be purchased in advance, and Saturday night is already sold out.

Saturday morning will be the Wicked Wine Run at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center.

Saturday also features the TedxJacksonville Conference at Terry Theatre. The Price is Right on Stage will be Saturday at the Times Union Center.

And a preview of next week, as Kevin Costner & Modern West Tales from Yellowstone Tour will be at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
