A St. Augustine woman was killed Saturday in Putnam County when she was ejected by an ATV, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a release.
Kate Sullivan, 22, was pinned underneath the 2016 Can-Am Defender for an extended period of time, the FHP said.
The ATV was traveling south on a dirt trail inside Dunns Creek State Park when it overturned, the FHP said in a report.
The driver, 23-year-old Sarah Edmonds of Jacksonville, and another passenger, 22-year-old Shannon Edmonds of St. Augustine, had minor injuries, the report said.
A friend of Sullivan's said that she went by "Katie" and graduated from Nease High in Ponte Vedra in 2014. Sullivan was a Publix employee at the Murabella location at World Golf Village, friends said.
Her friend said she was best friends with the two sisters involved in the crash.
