FRIDAY UPDATE: A child has been taken to a Jacksonville hospital after being pinned between a vehicle and a "stationary object," according to Chuck Mulligan with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened Thursday night at 9 p.m. at the Moultrie Creek Boat Ramp.
Deputies say the driver of the vehicle was backing down the boat ramp and hit the child who was standing in the area.
Action News Jax is working to learn the identity and age of the child.

St. Johns County deputies are investigating after a child was hit by a car near the Shore Drive boat ramps.
A spokesman for the Sheriff's Office says the child was taken to the hospital.
