St. Johns County attorney arrested for purchasing Adderall

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. —

A criminal defense attorney in St. Johns County has been arrested for purchasing Adderall, an amphetamine.

In January 2021, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force received information that Michael Stover, 33, of St. Johns County was requesting and then receiving narcotics as payment for his services.

Stover was caught through a law enforcement surveillance meeting with someone and taking possession of 60 Adderall pills, amounting to five grams of amphetamines.

FDLE agents, with the assistance from the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force and Florida Highway Patrol, arrested Stover today, Jan. 14, and booked him into the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

The case will now be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 7th Judicial Circuit.

Stover previously an Assistant State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit before transitioning to private practice. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2015.
