Surprise military homecoming at the ChainSmokers Concert at TPC Sawgrass

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. — Thousands of people packed TPC Sawgrass for Military Appreciation night.

It was extra-special for one local family. U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Jason Hartwick surprised his family. They had no idea he would be there.

“It’s a lot of emotion and appreciation. These guys did this for my family,” said Hartwick.

He’s a thankful sailor who is glad to be with his family.

“They’re my purpose, they’re the reason I do what I do,” he said.

His daughter said, “I love him. I appreciate him.”

And to show appreciation to Hartwick and the other military members and their families, The Chainsmokers took the stage.

For veterans like Christopher Gordon, Tuesday meant a lot.

“There’s no better feeling in the world,” he said.

Spending time with other Veterans makes it even more special.

“Being with other veterans, I feel comfortable. I can actually take it in and enjoy it,” said Ann Poindexcer.

It was a day to remember the men and women who served and are serving our country, and the sacrifices they make.
