Deputies got a call from a state in the Northeast, who said they got a call from a woman who lives in St. Johns County that she was going to harm someone else and then harm herself.

A location was not known, so investigators did a database search, which yielded several possible St. Johns County addresses.

Investigators immediately began a database search for a person with the same name provided, which revealed several possible addresses in St. Johns County. Deputies were sent to each of the various locations, when deputies located a female sitting in a car in a driveway of one of the addresses, the 900 block of Oxford Drive in St. Augustine in the Royal St. Augustine community.

Deputies commanded the woman to exit the car, but she did not comply. Deputies approached the car and found the woman had an apparent self-inflicted stab wound. St. Johns County Fire Rescue transported the woman to a local hospital.

Deputies found an elderly man dead inside the home.

Investigators are working to obtain a search warrant to investigate the home further.

No one else appears to be involved in the incident, deputies said.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office says a call from New Jersey  alerted them to  a dead man... and a woman saying she was going to harm herself.

Action News Jax Courtney Cole went to the scene in Royal St. Augustine on Friday afternoon to try and learn more from deputies, investigators and neighbors.

The Sheriff's Office said the man and woman are older—and may have been involved in a relationship.

"Honestly when I saw the caution tape, I had no idea what was going on," Haleigh told Action News Jax Courtney Cole.

Haleigh — and many other neighbors on Oxford Drive came outside Friday afternoon — only to discover crime scene tape and police cars on their street.

"I don't think I've ever really seen anything like that in our neighborhood or anywhere else that I've lived," Haleigh said.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said someone called, from New Jersey, just before 2 p.m., to alert them that someone may hurt themselves and someone else.

The Sheriff's Office says it took some extra leg work to find the place, since the caller didn't provide them with an address.

Investigators immediately began a database search for a person with the same name provided, which revealed several possible addresses in St. Johns County.

When the deputies arrived on the scene in the 900 block of Oxford, they found a woman inside a car with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators later learned her self-inflicted wound(s) were from a cutting or stabbing.

She was taken to the hospital.

"Deputies were then able to go inside the residence where they did find a deceased individual inside the home," said Chuck Mulligan, the spokesperson for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

No word yet on the woman's condition.

But the Mulligan said she was conscious and breathing when she was taken to the hospital.
"That's really sad, it's just sad to hear, I think," Haleigh said.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has obtained a warrant to search the home.
