Starke police warn of suspicious truck near elementary school

The Starke Police Department is warning families after two reports of a suspicious truck near an elementary school.

Starke police said on Facebook Wednesday that two people reported a newer model silver pickup truck in the area of Whispering Oaks and Southside Elementary School.

Police said the truck slowed down near children walking to school.

Officers are now encouraging parents to walk their children to school if possible, or have them walk in groups to and from school.

They are investigating the reports.
