Team USA loses battle in the 2022 World Cup against the Netherlands

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Team USA lost their battle in the 2022 World Cup against the Netherlands Sunday 3 to 1.

Either way, soccer brings lots of soccer fans to life and that includes the soccer fans at Lynch’s Irish Pub.

Action News Jax was at the Irish Pub and saw the World Cup watch party from beginning to end.

“It’s pretty cool, everybody cheering for the same team because you don’t get that very much being down here you get Florida, Georgia,” says Parker Kelly.

Win or lose Jax locals and Team USA cheerleaders from all around say their Team USA all day, every day.

“The USA, that’s all I care about,” says Briggs Hurley.

“Go USA baby, go USA,” Parker Kelly.

Soccer fan Briggs Hurley was super pumped about today’s game. He says he was most excited to see his favorite player, midfielder, Tyler Adams.

“Tyler Adams, he’s going to run everywhere. He runs boxes to boxes which is 18-yard box to 18-yard box. He works really hard, he’s a great effort guy, I love him,” says Briggs Hurley.

“I think the games been looking good, we got a lot of the ball, a few defensive mistakes, it’s mental, not a big deal, next goal wins this game,” says Roman Bratic.

That “W” did not happen. Team USA fans were hoping for a double whammy after the USA defeated Iran earlier this week.
