Missing Flagler teen found safe in St. Augustine

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said a missing teenager was located safe by law enforcement in St. Augustine on Tuesday night.

Tiffany Alyce Chapman, 16, had not been seen since Sunday night.

She left her home on Blaine Drive in Palm Coast, according to investigators. She didn't say where she was going. Investigators say she deleted her Facebook page and was not answering her phone.

Authorities say she got into her mom's blue Ford F-150 pickup truck near the Woodlands in Palm Coast. Investigators arrested her mother, Karen Watkins, in St. Johns County on charges of interfering with child custody but Chapman was not with her.

The Sheriff's Office was also worried because she lives with her grandmother.

"We don't want Tiffany to be a statistic.  We want Tiffany to come home," said Margaret Laterra, Tiffany's grandma, told Action News earlier Tuesday.

Tiffany is set to start her junior year at Matanzas High School.

"Everyone misses her. We're worried for her safety and we want to get her back as soon as possible," added Laterra.
