People walking around St. Augustine are being targeted by teens running up to the unsuspecting victims and spraying them with a fire extinguisher.
People are using fire extinguishers, but they are not fighting fires.
“When I got the powder in my face, I didn’t know what to do. I stood here kind of dumbfounded,” said Sam Pyne.
Pyne said that as he was walking to his car near Flagler College, two guys in a silver Dodge Charger stopped him and asked for directions.

“Second I turned around, all of a sudden this powder and mist came at me,” said Pyne.
And Pyne said he couldn’t see much.
“This whole parking lot turned into straight smoke, and I see them peel out, go around the corner, and that’s the last I saw of them,” said Pyne.
He said the whole incident left him in pain.
“My shoulders were burning for the rest of the night. I had rashes going throughout the entire back,” he said.
According to deputies, three other people were sprayed the same night, at sites less than 5 miles apart.
One guy was sprayed as he was walking his dog, another guy leaving work, and a family was sprayed in their car at a Walmart.
“Don’t give directions,” said a neighbor.
“If you inhale that, that’s awful for your lungs,” said Pyne.
