Jacksonville, FL — To date, there are over 11,000 families at risk of getting their utilities disconnected, according to JEA.
JEA’s grace period for non-payments ended July 9th and since then just under 3,000 have had their services disconnected.
Nearly 7,000 are working with the utility company on payment plans to avoid getting their utilities turned off.
Ways you can help:
- Visit jaxbeam.org
- JEA’s Neighbor to Neighbor Fund lets you give a set monthly amount through your JEA bill. United Way agencies then use these funds to help pay utility bills for those in need.
If you’re facing disconnection:
We highly encourage any customer’s eligible for disconnection to contact JEA directly by calling 665-6000 or log on to their account at JEA.com to work out short or long term payment plans.
