• Transformer fire knocks out power near Argyle Forest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A transformer fire knocked out power for hundreds of JEA customers near Argyle Forest early Tuesday morning.

Police and fire crews were on scene just before 5 a.m. and the transformer fire was quickly extinguished.

"It caught the surrounding bushes and stuff on fire so it was pretty big," said neighbor Grant Anthony. "You gotta find the flashlight that you haven't had for months. It's pretty inconvenient."

As of 8 a.m., more than 60 customers were still without power, according to the JEA outage map.
