Two brothers arrested in series of armed robberies in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men are accused in a string of armed robberies that led to an officer-involved shooting in the Riverview area over the weekend.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Ejon Syree Davis for three counts of armed robbery, burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and 22-year-old Elijah Scott Davis for armed robbery, aggravated assault on law enforcement officer and resisting an officer. Police believe the men are brothers.

Action News Jax told you Saturday that one armed robbery suspect has been arrested and the other sent to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting.

JSO linked the men to at least eight armed robberies in two days. Police believe the suspects would target their victims on social media.

The Sherrif's Office undercover officers tracked the men to the intersection of Soutel Drive and Lem Turner Road on Saturday, near a Foot Locker.

When the men approached the officer’s vehicle, officers believe they saw one of the men carrying a gun.

Officers said they identified themselves and ordered the men to lie on the ground.

They said Ejon complied and was arrested, but Elijah ran and was shot multiple times.

Elijah was taken for treatment to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
