Two Jacksonville women arrested in connection to an Amber Alert involving an Orange Park boy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Jacksonville women have been arrested in connection to an Amber Alert case out of Orange Park.

On Thursday, Cedric Barnes,10, was reported missing after he did not come home from school. An Amber Alert was issued after officials said the children Cedric was walking home from school with saw him talking to someone in a silver or gray car -- before he disappeared.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the boy has been living with his grandmother after being removed from his parents' care by the Department of Children and Families.

Deputies say during the process of identifying known relatives in the area, detectives were sent to a home on Necia Drive South and  made contact with Vachastity Christian, 25. Deputies say a blue, black and gray shirt was seen draped over a fence, the same shirt the grandmother said Cedric was wearing to school that day.

Deputies were able to make contact with Ondreja Ciprian, 23, the homeowner, who gave deputies permission to search the home. The report says the child was found in a bedroom. CCSO says the boy was taken to Orange Park Medical Center for a wellness check before being released back to his grandmother.

Ciprian has reportedly been enticing the boy to come live with her without the grandmother's knowledge or consent, the report stated. Deputies say the woman is someone close to the family,  but has no legal parental rights to the child, CCSO said.

The two women were arrested and face charges for interfering with the custody of a child and providing false information to law enforcement.
