Bednar described: “Well, I was working that evening. Standing right where we’re standing right now, and I heard a horrible impact of collision.”

The clerk said he was on the phone with 911 before he made it outside.

“The lady on 911 was asking me, well, was he breathing? I said, 'Ma'am, I don’t know, and I’m not a doctor. You just need to get somebody here. I said, 'This is horrible,'” Bednar recalled.

Action News Jax first told you about the crash in February.

On Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol released a report that said 54-year-old Grace King was drunk, on drugs and speeding without her headlights on when she hit Oesterreicher in February.

Court records from Duval County show King was charged with DUI again months later in May.

Vinton Solano, Oesterreicher’s brother, told Action News Jax, “Me and him have been really close, just hunting, fishing, seeing each other every day.”

He said he was at the scene minutes after the crash that killed his brother.

Solano said he’s glad King is charged but said he wants her off the road for good.

“It’s just hard, you know. I still think about him every day. It’s really, really sad.”

According to King’s arrest report in Duval County, she’s charged with misdemeanor DUI.

In St. Johns County, she’s charged with DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, DUI property damage, and driving without headlights.
