Young woman found after abduction scare on the Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a possible reported abduction on the Westside on Tuesday afternoon, but the young woman was quickly found after it turned out to be a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend.

Action News' Deanna Bettineschi was first on the scene in the 2200 block of Tyson Lake Drive near Normandy Boulevard and Chaffee Road South. Action News learned that a neighborhood watch member saw a girl put forcefully into a vehicle, then speed off quickly.

Police learned the identity of the girl and believed she would be found safe. A neighbor said they wanted to report it just in case.

JSO will provide more information later Tuesday afternoon.
