The shipmates of a murdered U.S. Navy chief petty officer honored her with a tribute Tuesday morning at the Naval Station Mayport beach.
U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Andrea Washington was found dead in her Jacksonville home a year ago today.
She was a 19-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, a friend said, and a mother of three.
She was assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Hue City, Naval Station Mayport said in a social media post.
"We will never forget."
