Recall alert: Ram trucks recalling over 20,000 trucks due to risk of engine fire

Fiat Chrysler, now part of Stellantis, better known as the company that makes Ram trucks, is recalling over 20,000 trucks in the U.S. and Canada.

The company said owners should park their 2021 trucks outdoors due to the risk of an engine fire.

The recalled trucks have the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine.

The fires can start even when the engine is off, due to the 2021 pickup and chassis cab trucks having heater electrical relays that can short, overheat and cause a fire, the company said.

The company said they are aware of three fires, but no injuries and none involved customer vehicles.

They are working on the repair and are expected to start the recall April 30.

Owners can call the company’s customer service line at (800) 853-1403 or check to see if their truck has been recalled at https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
