Restaurant Report: Violations found at AMC Theatre by inspectors

Action News Jax’s Ben Becker paid a visit to the AMC Theatres at Regency.

State inspectors found food with mold-like growth, small flying insects and a soda gun that was soiled.

Becker tried to speak with the manager, but he had no comment and referred him to AMC’s corporate office.

Becker called and emailed corporate and is waiting to hear back.

During an inspection at Wing Palace on Dunn Avenue near Lem Turner Road, the restaurant was cited for 18 rodent droppings, sewage backing up through a floor drain and potentially hazardous food temperatures. It was temporarily closed.

Inspectors said Sunrise Caribbean Gourmet Restaurant on North Edgewood Avenue near West 5th Street had 12 rodent droppings, an employee with artificial nails scooping food and a hole in the wall. The restaurant was also temporarily closed.

Kazu Japanese Restaurant on San Jose Boulevard near Crown Point Road was cited for raw animal foods not properly separated, mold-like substance in an ice machine and an employee personal items stored above food.

All the restaurants mentioned have passed follow-up inspections.
