While many students across the country are still staying up late and getting up even later, for some students in Virginia the alarm clock seemed to go off extra early this morning.
That's because they are already heading back to class.
Two elementary schools in Chesterfield, Virginia, are back to school today, WWBT reported.
Bellwood and Falling Creek elementary school students attend classes year-round, according to the television station.
Bellwood is doing the full-year schedule for the second year, but this is the first for Falling Creek.
School officials have a good reason for students to attend classes all year round - to prevent the summer slide that many students experience while on break, WWBT reported.
