12-year-old arrested after threatening to ‘kill everyone’ at school

A 12-year-old Florida boy was arrested after officials found he used a texting app to send pornographic images to staff members at his school as well as threats to kill faculty and students at the school.

According to officials, Steven Bissada contacted police on Sept. 19 and said that his son, Ryan Bissada, had received several inappropriate text messages from someone the family knew.

The next day, Steven Bissada contacted police again, saying he, his son and another family member had been added to a group chat in which the chat creator sent more inappropriate text messages, including photos propositioning sex, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said. The sender also sent messages threatening to “kill everyone” at L.A. Ainger Middle School in Charlotte County and Moody Elementary School in Manatee County.

Police notified school officials about the threats and went to the home of the suspect who the Bissada’s said they believed was responsible for the inappropriate messages.

The accused suspect and the child’s parents told authorities they had no knowledge of text messages and said they had not spoken to the Bissadas in more than three years.

Investigators also found the phone numbers of the accused student and his family members did not match the phone numbers that sent the inappropriate messages to the Bissadas.

Deputies took possession of Ryan Bissada’s laptop, iPod Touch and tablet device and found history of searches for the locations of L.A. Ainger Middle School and Moody Elementary School. They also found downloads of pornographic images that matched the ones sent to the group text with the Bissada family members.

A subpoena completed for messaging application TEXTNOW showed the IP address for the Bissada household matched the originating address associated with the threatening text messages as well as pornographic messages sent to school staff members.

Investigators discovered Ryan Bissada had sent the messages while he was home alone and his father was at work.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that Ryan Bissada was arrested on 11 felony counts of send written threat to kill.
