Police: Toddler killed, 2 adults hurt in drive-by shooting

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — A Missouri toddler is dead and two adults are recovering from injuries after gunfire erupted in midtown St. Joseph over the weekend, authorities said.

According to KQTV and the St. Joseph News-Press, the drive-by shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. Sunday near 20th and Messanie streets. Three victims, including 2-year-old Raelynn Elise Craig, a man and a woman, were struck by gunfire, the News-Press reported.

Craig later died at a nearby hospital, authorities said. The man was hospitalized and released after receiving treatment, while the woman, who was seriously injured, remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to KQTV.

St. Joseph police Capt. Jeff Wilson told the News-Press that the incident might be connected to another shooting that occurred in July at an area park.
