Ben Affleck to return as Batman in upcoming Flash movie

Ben Affleck has agreed to return as Batman in the next Flash movie coming in 2022.

In the upcoming film, Ezra Miller will reprise the role of The Flash/Barry Allen that he debuted in the DC Universe film “Justice League” as well as a cameo in the “Arrow” episode “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Four.”

The film will take the character through parallel dimensions where he will meet other DC Heroes.

“His Batman has a dichotomy that is very strong, which is his masculinity—because of the way he looks, and the imposing figure that he has, and his jawline —but he’s also very vulnerable. He knows how to deliver from the inside out, that vulnerability. He just needs a story that allows him to bring that contrast, that balance,” director Andy Muschietti told Vanity Fair.

Affleck reportedly received the script for the film last week, according to Vanity Fair.

Michael Keaton’s Batman from 1989 will also appear in the film, but likely in a parallel dimension.

Keaton first played Bruce Wayne and his alter ego Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman” and its 1992 sequel “Batman Returns.” He also jumped into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his role as The Vulture/Adrian Toomes in 2017′s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
