Colorado murder-suicide: Mom killed toddler son, self in Rocky Mountain National Park, officials say

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A Colorado mom fatally shot her toddler son, then turned the gun on herself last week at Rocky Mountain National Park, authorities revealed Monday.

According to the Coloradoan, Tristen Watson, 24, and her 17-month-old son, Christopher, both of Colorado Springs, were found dead at the park Friday, rangers said. Officials discovered the bodies after receiving a report of a suicidal person on the premises, the newspaper reported.

KRDO reported that Watson had announced she was pregnant in a recent Facebook post. Authorities have not confirmed that she had been expecting another child, but a third victim, Aspen Ann Watson, is named in Watson’s obituary.
