Georgia toddler dies after accidentally shooting himself in the head, police say

ATLANTA — A Georgia toddler has died after police said he accidentally shot himself.

According to WSB-TV, the incident occurred about 11 a.m. Tuesday off Manor Lane in southwest Atlanta. Police said the 3-year-old boy shot himself in the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died, the news outlet reported.

Police said the child's mother and her boyfriend are cooperating with authorities, who continue to investigate the case, according to WSB-TV.
