FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton honored “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer last month, ahead of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
According to NBC Sports, Newton wore light blue, “Black Panther”-themed pregame cleats featuring the words, “Wakanda Forever.” The Patriots went on to win the game 36-20.

Newton’s tribute came two weeks after Newton paid homage to Boseman with a “Wakanda Forever” salute after scoring a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 13, the news outlet reported.

Boseman died Aug. 28 at age 43, according to The Associated Press.
