Playground closed after parents find dozens of razor blades

A Michigan playground and all other nearby public parks are closed while investigators determine the safety of the recreational areas after making an unsettling discovery.

Howe Park, a playground in Eaton Rapids, closed this week after people in the neighborhood found nearly 40 razor blades scattered around the playground, Detroit-based WXYZ-TV reported.

Law enforcement officials who responded to the situation said the razors appeared to have been placed on slides and other equipment with intent to harm.

Witnesses told police they saw four teenagers who might be responsible.

The city is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever planted the razor blades, WXYZ-TV reported.
