The film featured a man whose every moment of his life was broadcast as a television show for the world to see. When he finds out that his life was a form of entertainment for the world, he leaves it all behind.

The Duke of Sussex made the revelation during an interview on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast.

Shepard asked the prince what it was like being under the eye of the world.

“It’s a mix between ‘The Truman Show’ and being in a zoo,” Harry said, adding that he was born into the life without a choice and that the U.K. media felt as if they owned him, Entertainment Tonight Canada reported.

He also relayed times he said he had no control over his life and felt helpless. He said it happened three times and called the events and feelings his Achilles heel, the “Today” show reported.

“One, when I was a kid in the back of a car with my mom being chased by paparazzi, two was in Afghanistan in an Apache helicopter and then the third one was with my wife. And those were the moments in my life where, yeah, feeling helpless hurts,” Harry said, according to “Today.”

He said he thought, “I got the privilege. I got the platform. I got the influence and even I can’t fix this. I can’t change this.”

Harry said his position in the family was a job.

“It’s the job, right? Grin and bear it. Get on with it. I was in my early 20s and I was thinking, ‘I don’t want this job. I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be doing this.’ Look what it did to my mum, how am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and family when I know it’s going to happen again. I’ve seen behind the curtain. I’ve seen the business models and know how this operation works. I don’t want to be part of this,” Harry told Shepard, according to Entertainment Tonight.

He said Meghan changed his point of view and how he approached his responsibilities.

Harry said he decided to “stop complaining” and “make this different because you can’t get out.”

He also opened up about seeking therapy from growing up in the spotlight his entire life. He said he was often angry because of the way he was treated, but when Meghan and he got together, he had a different perspective.

“It was a conversation that I had with my now-wife. And she saw it. She saw it straightaway. She could tell that I was hurting and that some of the stuff was out of my control was making me really angry. It would make my blood boil,” Harry said, according to “Today.”
