More than 100 shoppers at a New Orleans supermarket had plenty to be thankful for Wednesday, as Saints running back Alvin Kamara and defensive end Cam Jordan joined New Orleans restaurateur Larry Morrow, car dealership owner Matt Bowers and social media personality Supa Cent to pay the bills for shoppers at a Save A Lot, ESPN reported. The final total was approximately $21,000.

“We’re blessed, so just being able to be a blessing is huge for us,” Kamara told the sports network. “Everybody here is definitely fortunate. This is something so simple, yet so meaningful.”

Kamara and Morrow had collaborated on Thanksgiving turkey giveaways in previous years, but the tradition was halted last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.’

On Wednesday, Kamara and Jordan chatted with fans and even bagged some of the groceries, the team said.

Kamara, who is nursing a knee injury, will be unable to play when the Saints (5-5) host the Buffalo Bills (6-4) on Thursday night, WWL-TV reported. The Saints will try to snap a three-game losing streak, while the Bills will try to rebound after falling 41-15 to the Indianapolis Colts.
