HOUSTON — A son defended his parents who were being attacked by a stranger by fatally shooting the man Friday night, police said.
The incident started inside the Ostioneria Michoacan bar and restaurant when a patron groped a woman, KHOU reported.
In response, she slapped the man and left the restaurant with her husband. The man followed the couple out to the parking lot and started a physical fight with the man. He also hit his wife.
The couple’s son came out, saw what was happening and opened fire. The man was taken to a hospital where he died. His mother was accidentally shot. She was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.
Update: A LOT OF DETAILS to unpack w/ this story — @houstonpolice say the shooting actually happened behind the Michoacán Mexican seafood restaurant parking lot — which is next to Bombshells.

The police investigation used surveillance video to corroborate the family’s story. The case will be referred to a grand jury without charges, KHOU reported.
“From what I’ve seen on video and from what everybody is telling me, yes, he’s clearly taking action to protect his dad and mom,” Houston police Sgt. Kenneth Daignault said.
Alfredo Rodriguez said he would do anything to switch places with his son, who was forced to kill. Rodriguez said he was shot in the face during a robbery a few years ago. That experience prompted his son to take quick action.
“He tell me, ‘Dad, it never happen to you no more, I take care of you,’” Rodriguez said.
