Watch: Tiny dog stares down mountain lion at Colorado home

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — Logic dictates that a tiny dog is no match for a full-grown mountain lion, but nobody tell Dash.

Facebook user Sarah Bole captured video Thursday of her 13-year-old Shih Tzu-Toy Poodle mix staring down a mountain lion peering through the back door of their Grand Lake, Colorado, home, KDVR reported.

For roughly the first 30 seconds of the video, the lion and the dog seem frozen in place while they lock eyes through the glass door, Out There Colorado reported.

A frightened Bole can be heard in the background of the video, attempting to distract Dash from the prowling feline to no avail.

“He wants to eat my dog,” Bole exclaimed at one point.

Not only did Dash never break eye contact with the encroaching big cat, even when the feline pressed its nose against the patio glass, but the pooch’s tail never stopped wagging throughout the encounter.

“At no time was the lion aggressive, but rather it was just as curious as my dog to figure out what was on the other side of the glass,” Bole told Storyful after the roughly 2.5-minute stare down concluded, according to KDVR.

“Although I was a bit shaken, I don’t feel I was in any danger, and the lion was curious about its own reflection and the dog,” she added.
