Ashlie Ruth Clark, 31, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in the first degree and assault in the second degree, according to a news release from the Washington County District Attorney’s Office.

Her sentence will be followed by three years of post-prison supervision, according to the release.

According to prosecutors, Clark was allegedly caught shoplifting from a Nordstrom store at the Washington Square mall in Tigard on July 22, 2022, KPTV reported.

Officials said that a security guard confronted Clark as she left the store without paying for more than $800 worth of merchandise, according to the television station.

According to the news release, Clark allegedly resisted the security guard as she attempted to recover the stolen items. During a struggle, Clark allegedly bit the earlobe of the guard, “removing at least a half inch,” prosecutors said.

Clark was arrested by the Tigard Police Department and gave authorities a false name and date of birth, KPTV reported. Authorities later learned that Clark had two outstanding warrants for her arrest, according to the news release.

The victim went to an area hospital, but her earlobe could not be surgically reattached, prosecutors said.
