White Castle voluntary recalls frozen hamburgers because of possible listeria contamination

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, White Castle has issued a voluntary recall regarding frozen hamburgers because of the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenesis could cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The recalled White Castle products are frozen 6 pack cheeseburgers, frozen 6 pack hamburgers, frozen 6 pack jalapeno cheeseburgers, 16 pack hamburgers, and 16 pack cheeseburgers with a best buy date of ranging from Aug. 4, 2020 to Aug. 17, 2020.

There have been no reported illness from these products at this time according to public health officials.

If you purchased the recalled items, you are asked to throw them away or return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund or exchange.
