Worker electrocuted while working on County Road 210

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a worker was electrocuted Wednesday afternoon.

According to SJSO Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw, the man was working on the roof at the TA travel center on County Road 210. The man was identified Thursday as Joshua Edward Hatcher, 24.

The call came in around 1:30 p.m. and rescue crews arrived to find Hatcher in cardiac arrest on the roof. Hatcher was later pronounced dead at Baptist South Hospital.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Hatcher and another worker were working on lighting at the travel center. The other worker could not reach Hatcher by phone and then found Hatcher unconscious on the roof, Kelshaw said.

No witnesses were on the roof at the time and the investigation is ongoing. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is also taking part in the investigation.
