20% max capacity expected for THE PLAYERS Championship in 2021

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — THE PLAYERS Championship is quickly approaching and there will be some changes in place for the 2021 edition due to the pandemic and on Monday we got a better picture about what this year’s tournament will look.

Back in December, we reported when it was announced that there would be limited capacity in 2021 and Monday Executive Director for THE PLAYERS Jared Rice said the goal this year was to have 20% max capacity.

“We feel that hits our priority of how we can deliver the tournament in a healthy way and with the safety of everybody in mind” Rice says.

He says some of the things fans can expect to see are contactless commerce and entry throughout. Masks will also be required and there will not be a patriot’s outpost this year.

While there won’t be any residency restrictions for the people attending, Rice says there will be prioritized ticketing.

He says on February 1st, a rolling pre-sale will begin where they will send out correspondence to previous ticket purchasers and other supporters of the tournament to buy tickets. Then on February 16th a limited number of tickets will go on sale to the public. Rice says all tickets will be digital.

THE PLAYERS this year is scheduled for March 9th through the 14th.
