Florida-Georgia game tips and reminders from the Glynn County Police Department

As they head from the University of Georgia to Jacksonville for the Florida-Georgia game, many Bulldog fans visit the St. Simons Island area on the way.

The Glynn County Police Department would like for all visitors of the Golden Isles during the
annual GA/FL Weekend to have a safe and enjoyable time. We would like to provide a few
reminders and tips which will make your stay here a little more enjoyable:

-You must be at least 21 years old to legally consume alcohol in the State of Georgia.
-If you decide to drink, please be responsible.
-Based on statistics from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, over 2,000
people die annually from alcohol poisoning. Don't be a statistic.
-Be aware of your surroundings. Never leave with someone you do not know.
-There is strength in numbers. Always travel in pairs or groups and never alone.
-Watch out for your friends. Be responsible for them if they are not being responsible
themselves.
-If a friend is exhibiting signs of alcohol poisoning, call 911.
-Never drink and drive. Call a taxi cab, an Uber or Lyft driver (which are now available
in Glynn County), or walk.
-If you decide to walk, please walk on designated sidewalks and not in the road.
-Stash your trash. Please do not leave any trash behind on the beach.
