Jacksonville Jaguars trade for quarterback in the wake of Nick Foles' injury

Joshua Dobbs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars are trading for Pittsburgh Steelers backup QB Joshua Dobbs.

They will send a 2020 fifth round draft pick to the Steelers for the former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback.

Dobbs was a 2017 fourth-round draft pick of the Steelers.

Starting quarterback Nick Foles left the game in the first quarter of Sunday's game when he was hurt after throwing a touchdown pass to DJ Chark.

Foles was set to have surgery Monday to repair a broken clavicle. He went on the team's injured reserve list, so he will be eligible to play in a game, if healthy, week 11 vs. the Indianapolis Colts.

The Jaguars ended up losing the season opener at TIAA Bank Field to the Kansas City Chiefs 40-26.

After Foles' injury, the spate of bad luck continued for the team and fans. Linebacker Myles Jack was ejected from the game for throwing a punch, and then the CBS Sports truck went down in the fourth quarter, which meant fans at home couldn't watch the end of the game.
