88 Blessings: Former Jaguars receiver, his mother, help local students impacted by COVID-19

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Former Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns and his mother Erica Wilson are using their charity 88 Blessings to help local students impacted by COVID-19.

In a video message sent to Action News Jax, Hurns said, "I know it's a difficult time right now and we've all been affected some sort of way dealing with this pandemic. Just talking to my mom it's something that's been heavy on her heart and her mind. We will be launching the S.O.A.R movement. We will be helping senior graudates in high school that's going off to college."

According to 88 Blessings, ​S.O.A.R stands for High School SENIORS will OVERCOME by ARISING from HARDSHIPS and becoming RESILIENT.

The S.O.A.R. movement encourages local high school seniors to stay resilient while offering them hope during these uncertain times. 88 Blessings will be providing 17 college-bound seniors care packages and hosting a special senior night celebration after the pandemic is over and it is safe to do so.
