JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jags fans are on a mission to find franchise gear with the newly earned title. Sports Mania received a new shipment of shirts, and has been trying to keep its beanies stocked.

With a late Saturday night Jags win, and with manufacturers closed on Sunday, shops like Sports Mania have been working to get shipments in since Monday.

“We were waiting for the AFC South Champion stuff,” said Shirley Blancas, a Jags fan who like so many others, is eagerly shopping for the next Jags game that is quickly approaching against the LA Chargers.

Meanwhile, Mathew Smith, owner of Sports Mania, said he’s doing what he can to keep shelves stocked.

“You have a great attitude because this is very fun and exciting, but one of the top questions really is, ‘When are you getting the stuff?’” he said.

Action News Jax was there as two separate shipments of merch arrived Wednesday morning.

“It’s great for business,” said Jags fan Debbie Luce. “It’s great to bring attention to Jacksonville. It’s great for small business owners like this that can sell out of their merchandise.”

Since it’s going to be in the 40s on Saturday, and since fans really want that official 2022 AFC South Champ gear, they’re reaching for a lot of beanies.

In fact, a shipment of beanies came in Wednesday, and Smith already expects all of these to sell out by the end of the day. There is another shipment coming in on Thursday.

“[This one] says the champs, which I can’t wait to wear!” Luce said. “[The others are] going to my daughter, and two of my friends.”

“I got a bunch of beanies for my kids,” added Blancas. “It’s the only time it gets cold in Jax and, you know, the only time we’re going to be seeing the Jaguar [in the cold].”

Even though these shoppers have had to pack some patience, they’re also keeping a positive attitude.

“We need to do our part!” Luce said. “It brings awareness to our city, which is what everybody needs.”

“It makes the entire city very proud,” Blancas said.
