First Alert Weather: Tracking the next storm system for the Jacksonville area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — We are starting off Tuesday with cool temperatures in the 40s and 50s this morning. Mostly clear skies will remain throughout the day. High temperatures will make it back to the mid 70s as well.

The first half of the week will continue to dry with highs eventually making back to 80 degrees by Wednesday. An isolated afternoon shower is possible midweek.

We will be near record highs on Thursday. Temperatures will surge to the lower 80s ahead of a cold front that will sweep through the area on Thursday night. Thursday night we will likely be tracking a line of potentially strong storms approaching from our west and northwest. This line will be approaching our area before midnight.

Friday’s morning commute will be mainly dry with some leftover wet roadways. We will update that forecast and specific impacts throughout the week.
