TRACKING THE TROPICS:
The First Alert Weather Team is monitoring an area of low pressure over the south-central Atlantic. There is some potential for the system to become more organized today, but long term development does not appear likely as upper level wind shear will increase Friday. An area of low pressure is expected to develop over the Central Atlantic Friday into the weekend. There is some potential for tropical or subtropical development of this system over the open Atlantic over the weekend and early next week.
