Local child author launches campaign to animate popular comic book

Jacksonville, FL. — The local 10-year-old author and One Spark winner behind the comic book "The Adventures of Moxie McGriff" needs your help turning the comic into an animated series.

Natalie McGriff is launching a CrowdFunding campaign to animate her super hero story and develop an app to continue promoting diversity and celebrating kids with special needs.

She wrote the comic when she was just 7 years old. It's about a little girl who discovers her afro-puffs have super powers.

The series has captivated children across the nation, including actress Monique Coleman of the Disney movie "High School Musical" who will serve as an executive producer for the cartoon series.

“Following the success of our comic book series, Natalie and I were inspired to expand our efforts and bring this impactful series to every child in America,” said Angela Nixon, Natalie's mother and co-author. “Natalie is changing lives with her message of acceptance and we hope others will join us in expanding this important initiative.”

The Adventures of Moxie McGriff took Jacksonville and then the nation by storm and Moxie has some big plans in the works, as you can see from this clip! Check out all of the local 10-year-old authors projects for Moxie and help make them a reality: http://bit.ly/2tsUITV
