2 Lake City women killed in ATV accident

Two women from Lake City were killed when an ATV spun out of control and flipped on top of them early Monday morning.

Kristina Durham, 32, was driving a 2015 Polaris Ranger on 45th Road in Suwannee County around 2:45 a.m.

Ashley Terrell, 30, and a third woman were passengers on the ATV when the driver lost control around a curve.

Durham corrected to the left then overcorrected to the right, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The ATV spun out and veered off the road.

Durham and Terrell were ejected and the ATV came to rest on on top of them.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third passenger was taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries.

None of the three women on the ATV were wearing seatbelts.

Troopers are investigating if alcohol was involved in the accident.
